SBS Forum on ICT standards for SMEs

The “SBS Forum on ICT standards for SMEs” is a European platform for discussion and sharing of information about ongoing ICT standards activities that are relevant to SMEs. The Forum focuses particularly on digitisation of SMEs and it targets SMEs providing ICT services as well as SME users of such services. The main target audience of the Forum are SMEs across the EU and EFTA member states, as well as associations representing SME interests.

 

Topic: e-invoicing and e-identification

The EU has set the legal framework for seamless electronic interactions between businesses, citizens and public authorities.  European standards will provide the basis for e-invoicing and trust services for electronic transactions in the EU internal market. Standards solutions will offer higher security and more convenience for any online activity such submitting tax declarations, enrolling in a foreign university, remotely opening a bank account, setting up a business in another Member State, authenticating for internet payments, bidding to on line call for tender, etc.

This session will feature key experts from regulators, standards makers and service providers, who will give an overview on the standards that implement e-invoicing and e-identification in Europe. The session will focus, in particular, on SMEs highlighting the benefits, as well as the requirements and the procedures to follow in order to apply e-invoicing and e-identification.

Speakers

 

Fabio Massimo  is Vice President for Italy of the European Digital SME Alliance. He is also President of CNA ICT (Confederazione Nazionale dell’Artigianato e della Piccola e Media impresa per la Comunicazione e il Terziario Avanzato – Sezione ICT) in Rome, Italy.

 

Andrea Caccia is a member of the European Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Electronic Invoicing (European Commission Expert Group). He is the Chair of CEN/TC 434 on electronic invoicing, member of CEN/TC 440 on public procurement and CEN/TC 445 on digital information exchange in the insurance sector. Andrea is also member of ETSI/ESI (Electronic Signatures and Infrastructures), CEN/TC 224/WG 17 (Protection Profiles in the context of signature creation devices). Andrea contributed to the standardization work for the European Standards on TSPs (EN 319 401, EN 319 403, EN 319 411, EN 319 412, EN 319 421, EN 319 422) and AdES Digital Signature formats EN 319 122 (CAdES), EN 319 132 (XAdES), EN 319 142 (PAdES), EN 319 162 (ASiC).

Irena Rivière is Policy Officer in charge of eInvoicing at the European Commission (DG GROW).

 

Viky Manaila graduated Physics at University of Bucharest and holds a Master in e-Business, Cryptography and Electronic Signatures. She is Managing Director of Trans Sped, Romanian-based EU and SAFE-BioPharma trusted PKI service, with high knowledge in national, EU, and US policies governing the operation of certification authorities. Advisor and technical expert to European Commission for instituting Regulation 910/2014 (eIDAS) on electronic identity assurance and the design and roll-out of European, cross-nation e-procurement platforms and operations. Has implemented within the business model and the technical structure of CAs the European Telecommunications and Standards Institute (ETSI) standards for authentication, encryption, signing, time stamping, archiving and auditability.
