Oliver Grün elected President of the European Digital SME Association

Brussels/Aachen, 19. June 2015 – The President of the Federal Association of IT-SMEs of Germany (BITMI) and CEO of GRÜN Software AG, Dr. Oliver Grün, was elected President of Pan European ICT and eBusiness Network for SMEs (PIN-SME) yesterday in Brussels.

The European Association PIN-SME (www.pin-sme.eu) represents more than 10,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) with around 200,000 employees in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, GB, Denmark, Bulgaria and other European countries.

As PIN-SME President, Grün aims for a strengthening of interests in Brussels: “Europe is shaped by small and medium-sized enterprises. In the digital economy, the small IT enterprises are the ones providing the majority of European jobs and acting as the driver of innovation. Therefore, the European Commission’s flagship initiative of the Digital Single Market cannot succeed without Europe’s digital SMEs. The cooperation between the European small and medium-sized IT-enterprises and the Commission has to be optimized, and we are ready for working on it”, announces the new PIN-SME President towards Günther Oettinger, EU-Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society.
