Membership benefits

  • Representation vis à vis the European institutions and bodies. This includes organising direct meetings between members and EC officials or MEPs.
  • Opportunities to participate in Europe-funded projects: Horizon2020, Erasmus+, tenders or other financial support schemes. These are usually invitations to become a partner of existing consortia that develop project proposals in response to specific calls. Such invitations are directed either to our member associations or to their SME members. In the latter case, our member offers the participation opportunity to its SME members.
  • Letters of Intent (support letters) for members participating in EU projects
  • Support in promoting your project outputs or other important info to our network.
  • Annual calls for experts to participate in standardisation activities co-funded by SBS.
  • Tailored information and policy analysis on relevant EU policies.
  • Call for experts (at the request of European institutions, experts of our members can be invited to expert workshops, high level working groups, etc.). This includes financial support such as payment of allowances or travel expenses.
  • Introduction to B2B (business to business) opportunities and collaborations among SMEs (DIGITAL SME liaises between its represented SMEs and helps them to collaborate or form consortia; also a possible introduction to businesses in other sectors).
  • Opportunities to participate or speak at international events.
  • Participation in policy and research activities.
  • Privileged access to trainings (free for members; e.g. GDPR training for SMEs).
