Digital skills development: the gateway to a prosperous future for all
As the Fourth Industrial Revolution sweeps through evolving industries, digital skills have become essential for both individuals and SMEs to adapt and innovate.
In this joint campaign, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s Learning and Knowledge Development Facility (LKDF) and the European DIGITAL SME Alliance want to raise awareness about the importance of skills development in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable development.
In developing nations especially, digital skills development enables fast-paced digital transformation of SMEs, education institutions, and public administration, and creates a path towards a prosperous information economy
Over the course of the campaign, we will shed light on different issues pertaining to digital skills development. How exactly are digital skills defined? How can we increase digital skills among citizens and SMEs in different societies? What are some challenges to skills development, and what are some success stories?
In addition, we will show how skills development contributes to ecological and economic sustainability through different initiatives such as DIGITAL SME’s Sustainable Digitalisation campaign, UNIDO’s Global Cleantech Innovation Programme, and others. Stay tuned!
