With its second acceleration process, the Block.IS project seeks to support SMEs and startups to generate blockchain-based products, processes and business models with strong market potential in the sectors of agrifood, logistics and finance.

What is the funding and other benefits?
Selected projects will get the chance to start an ambitious 3-phase acceleration programme that aims to support the market uptake
and impact of the proposed innovation/ solutions:
- Up to €60,000 of equity-free funding to develop an innovative, competitive and market oriented blockchain-based application
- Tailor-made technical support
- Business support and 1-on 1-mentorship

What are the eligibility criteria?
An SME is considered eligible for Block.IS Acceleration Process if it complies will ALL the following rules:
i. It is a legal entity established and based in one of the EU Member States or an H2020 Associated country as defined in H2020 rules for participation
ii. It is a technology provider or technology adopter/user providing innovation in the agrifood, logistics and/or finance sector.
iii. Start-ups that do not have yet annual turnover or balance sheets are also considered eligible given that they fulfil the criteria (a) and (b) of section §3.1 at submission time. (See Annex 2: Guideline for applicants)
iv. In case an SME is awarded a sub-project, it will remain eligible even if, at a certain point during the sub-project execution, it does not fulfil criteria (b) or (c) of section §3.1. (See Annex 2: Guideline for applicants)

The Block.IS project’s vision is to build an open and collaborative cross-border, cross-sectoral innovation ecosystem that fosters the use of blockchain technology in three vital sectors for the European economy: agrifood, logistics and finance. Block.IS aims to provide to competitive and market oriented European SMEs access to knowledge, technology, capital and markets with the aim to place new products/ services in the market targeting blockchain technology.

The light industries innovation and technology project (ELIIT project) seeks to support technology providers and SMEs in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear (TCLF) industry with a grant of €70,000. If you offer new technologic solutions to TCLF SMEs this call is for you!
What you need to do?
You must have an SME partner in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear industry. Your goal will be to implement the innovations in your partner’s activities: to develop, consolidate and correctly integrate the technology for the scale up at the industrial level.
What is the funding and other benefits?
The selected partnerships will benefit from:
- €70,000 in financial support to develop products or prototypes with high added-value and profitability
- tailor-made coaching and advice to improve project relevancy and increase capabilities
- networking activities and participation in workshops/conferences and exhibitions to aid market-positioning as well as build business relationships
- intellectual property rights organisation and guidance
What are the eligibility criteria?
Partners must be based on one of the EU member states or COSME programme associated countries (Iceland, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, Moldova, Ukraine and Armenia. The United Kingdom can be financed through the transition period (foreseen until 31 December 2020), the further participation is currently undecided.
Partner from the TCLF industry must be an SME, according to the EU criteria.
How to apply and when?
Application deadline is the 31st of March, 5PM CET.
In order to apply, both partners must be registered in the EMS Platform. The partnership is asked to submit the application form which can be found here. The application must be submitted in the online Platform.

More about the ELIIT project and application
The ELIIT project aims to reinforce the innovativeness and competitiveness of the TCLF industries as well as other related industries (new technologies, materials, e.g.) by promoting cross-fertilisation between sectors that would find it difficult to cooperate without hands-on support.
