2016 Rolling Plan on ICT Standardisation

The European Commission released the 2016 Rolling Plan on ICT Standardisation.  This document is a comprehensive work program with a detailed outline of standardisation activities performed in Europe and worldwide in the field of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies).

Readers have a complete overview of the standardisation actions in support European policies. The needs for such activities have been identified by the Commission together with all actors in ICT standardisation. The development of the Rolling Plan is coordinated through the Multi-Stakeholder Platform on ICT Standardisation.

The Platform is an advisory group to the Commission on matters relating to the implementation of ICT Standardisation policy. It is composed of members of the national authorities of Member States and EFTA countries, industry associations, societal stakeholders and organisations representing ICT standardisation stakeholders.

The 2016 Rolling Plan on ICT Standardisation was drafted in an open and inclusive process to promote convergence of standards developed by different organisations worldwide.

The Rolling Plan includes several sectors like Internet of Things, e-invoicing, e-skills, smart grids, healthcare, cloud computing, intelligent transport systems, security, accessibility and many others.
