DIGITAL SME, together with the Task Force Blockchain & DLT, is organising the second edition of the Blockchain Summit on 20 September, 11.00 – 13.00 CEST, to  discuss how the European ecosystem can support blockchain uptake by SMEs.

Blockchain is more than just hype. Cryptocurrencies have been around for more than a decade and real-world use cases across all sectors have been deployed. The EU’s ambitious vision to be a leader in blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT), as well as a home to blockchain platforms, applications and companies[1] is coming true. But how can we make sure that European SMEs can make the most out of this technology? Is the European blockchain ecosystem innovation-friendly enough? What about SME access to R&D and investment?

Following a successful first edition of the DIGITAL SME Blockchain Summit in October 2020 and based on the strategic importance of the blockchain sector for European SMEs, DIGITAL SME is glad to continue this series and see where we stand one year after.

The event will bring together policymakers, business associations, researchers, and entrepreneurs to discuss how we can make the shift from individual successful use cases to a European blockchain success story, as well as regulatory frameworks and other instruments needed for European blockchain SMEs to thrive.
