Connecting and supporting ICT SMEs  via a network of EU and Eastern Partnership business associations

The EU4Business: Connecting Companies (EU4BCC) is a programme managed by EUROCHAMBRES and funded under the EU4Business initiative of the EU. EU4BCC aims to deepen and strengthen relations between the European Union and the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Countries, supporting SMEs to grow by fostering business linkages.

Within EU4BCC, DIGITAL SME is implementing two funded projects, together with the Moldovan Association of ICT companies (ATIC). The first project focuses on fostering collaboration between Business Support Organisations (BSOs) such as to better serve their member SMEs, the other one focuses on B2B matchmaking for SMEs. Both projects have a similar goal, which is to create a network of EU and Eastern Partnership (EaP) ICT Business Support Organisations (BSOs), and aim to achieve the following objectives:

  • foster further collaboration, increase international trade and support internationalisation of their member SMEs;
  • contribute to the harmonisation of digital markets in the EaP and EU
  • increase the recognition by regulators and investors
  • impact the ecosystem to accelerate technological adoption
  • contribute to promotion of ICT as an efficient means of running successful businesses in rural areas and to gender equality in running of an ICT-enabled business.

Based on an analysis of common development goals and challenges of the participating BSOs and their SMEs, the projects will deliver services tailored to their specific needs, based on DIGITAL SME best practices.

DIGITAL SME is coordinating the project and ensuring its smooth implementation. Relying on its large network of ICT SMEs, DIGITAL SME will engage its member associations and reach out to further ICT BSOs to ensure a wide participation and high impact of the services offered to BSOs and SMEs. The services to participating BSOs and SMEs will base on DIGITAL SME’s best practice methodologies and approaches, such as international working groups, institutional capacity building, EU funding and consortia building support.

DIGITAL SME is implementing these projects together, with the Moldovan Association of ICT companies (ATIC).

ATIC is the leading association and the voice of the Moldovan ICT industry promoting the development of the ICT sector in the Republic of Moldova through viable partnerships between companies, similar organizations, government, state institutions and international organizations. The association was founded to represent the industry on different policy and legislative issues and to facilitate the exchange of best-practices between members.
