Call for Expression of Interest for SMEs to Host Trainees Financed by the Erasmus+ Programme in the Area of Cybersecurity

DIGITAL SME has opened a call for expression of interest for companies interested in hosting trainees under the Erasmus+ Programme in the areas of cybersecurity and digital skills.

This continuous open call aims to connect European SMEs with higher education institutions, offering companies the opportunity to host students who are already financially supported through the Erasmus+ Traineeship Programme. Hosting opportunities will be available throughout the year as new groups of students are introduced.

About the students

Students come from technical institutes and universities specialising in cybersecurity and digital innovation. Most of them already have some initial work or traineeship experience, which allows them to contribute effectively to their host organisations. Their skills combine both technical and organisational dimensions, from network and information security, software development, and system monitoring, to areas such as digital compliance, risk management, and IT governance.

Who can apply:

• Companies and organisations established in EU Member States or Erasmus+ associated countries, active in the digital domain or interested in strengthening their cybersecurity and IT capacities
• Expressions of interest can be submitted at any time. DIGITAL SME will share the collected expressions of interest with relevant educational institutions to facilitate direct contact between companies and suitable student profiles.

Funding information:

• Trainees participating in this programme receive individual grants directly through the Erasmus+ Programme, which fully cover their traineeship period.
• Host companies do not need to provide financial compensation, unless they wish to offer additional benefits.

The DIGITAL SME does not manage or allocate Erasmus+ funding. Specific amounts and conditions of the grants are defined by the sending institutions in accordance with Erasmus+ rules.
