Open Call for ICT Standardisation Experts to Join the StandICT2029 External Pool of Evaluators

StandICT.eu 2029, a Horizon Europe project, has launched a new Call for Evaluators to expand its External Pool of Evaluators (EPE). The EPE plays a central role in ensuring the quality, transparency, and fairness of the StandICT Fellowship Programme — a series of six Open Calls running over the project’s 36-month lifetime, with more than €4 million dedicated to supporting European ICT standardisation specialists in international and global SDOs.

What the EPE Does

The External Pool of Evaluators is composed of trusted, recognised experts who:

  • Review applications to the StandICT Fellowship Programme
  • Ensure impartial, consistent, and high-quality evaluation
  • Help select Europe’s next generation of ICT standardisation contributors

Evaluations are conducted entirely online and for each Open Call three evaluators are assigned to every eligible proposal, based on expertise, ensuring gender and geographical balance.

Eligibility

StandICT.eu is seeking evaluators with:

  • Strong expertise in ICT standardisation, especially in the topics covered by the Open Calls
  • A proven track record in SDO/SSO work (chair roles, rapporteurs, convenors, WG contributors)
  • Active engagement in ICT standardisation in the last 12–18 months
  • Experience from academia, industry, SMEs, associations, or other eligible organisations under Horizon Europe

Evaluators must come from eligible Horizon Europe countries and cannot be part of the StandICT.eu 2029 consortium.

Priority Areas

The EPE covers all thematic areas of:

  • The Digital Single Market
  • The Multi-Stakeholder Platform Rolling Plan for ICT Standardisation

This wide scope ensures flexibility and the ability to match each application with the most suitable expert.

Funding

Evaluators receive:

  • A daily rate of €450
  • Payment based on the number of proposals evaluated, with time commitments agreed in advance
