ASSINTEL is the national association representing Italian ICT and digital enterprises, operating within Confcommercio. The association supports tech SMEs through advocacy, networking initiatives, training activities and services aimed at fostering innovation and growth across the Italian digital sector.
AssoSoftware is the national association representing Italian software producers, representing the interests of companies developing applications and digital solutions for businesses, citizens and public administrations. The association supports its members through advocacy, networking initiatives, market insights and regulatory engagement, while working within the Italian DIGITAL SME Alliance to ensure close coordination with the European DIGITAL SME Alliance and strengthen the representation of the Italian software industry in European digital policy discussions.
By joining the European DIGITAL SME Alliance, ASSINTEL will contribute to strengthening SME competitiveness and promoting innovation-friendly digital policies at EU level, while AssoSoftware’s membership in the Italian Digital SME Alliance further reinforces the representation of the Italian software industry within the European network.
In a market where innovation cycles are increasingly shorter and competition unfolds on a global scale, European regulation plays a decisive role in shaping opportunities and responsibilities for digital companies. Frameworks such as the AI Act and NIS2 are not just regulatory milestones; they define the environment in which our enterprises – from established SMEs to innovative startups operating within an evolving European perimeter – design, develop and deliver innovation. For Assintel, joining the European DIGITAL SME Alliance means being closer to where these decisions take shape, strengthening our ability to follow, understand and actively contribute to the European policy debate.
ASSINTEL President – Paola Generali
Joining the Italian Digital SME Alliance and its European network represents an important step for AssoSoftware and for the companies we represent. Decisions taken in Brussels have a direct and growing impact on our sector. Being part of a strong and authoritative European network allows us to bring the perspective of Italian software companies into EU decision-making processes and to contribute to the development of a more competitive, innovative and SME-oriented digital ecosystem.
AssoSoftware President – Pierfrancesco Angeleri
Through these new memberships, the DIGITAL SME network continues to expand its pan-European community of associations and partners, strengthening cooperation, knowledge sharing and advocacy to support the growth and competitiveness of technology SMEs across Europe.
