Call for Applications - Task Force "Digitalisation Guide" - European DIGITAL SME Alliance

Call for Experts:

From User to Owner - A Digital Sovereignty Roadmap for SMEs

About the Call for Experts

The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is developing a practical guide to help SME leaders and technical teams navigate the digitalisation journey, from initial tool adoption to full technological mastery. The guide is structured around a maturity ladder framework and will include concrete case studies, trade-off analyses, and a decision framework tailored to the realities of small and medium-sized enterprises.

To ensure the guide reflects genuine practitioner knowledge, DIGITAL SME is assembling a group of experts and entrepreneurs who will contribute to its development through writing, case study input, interviews, or peer review. We are looking for professionals with hands-on experience across areas such as AI adoption, cybersecurity, data strategy, cloud infrastructure, and sustainable IT, with a strong preference for those who have worked directly with or within SMEs across different sectors and departments.

Responsibilities of selected experts:

Depending on their area of expertise and availability, contributors may be asked to:

  • Draft or co-author one or more sections of the guide
  • Provide input for case studies based on real or anonymised experience
  • Participate in one or more expert interviews or working sessions
  • Review and provide feedback on draft content produced by other contributors
  • Validate the accuracy and practical relevance of the final guide

What contributors can expect

Contributors will be credited as expert authors or reviewers in the published guide. Their participation in this initiative will be promoted through DIGITAL SME’s communication channels and partner network to increase the visibility and profile of the selected experts to a broad range of stakeholders.
