The Scientific and Technological Association Infopark is the largest private voluntary union of software developing companies in the Republic of Belarus, and they have just become a new member of the European DIGITAL SME Alliance.

Dr. Oliver Grün, president of the European DIGITAL SME Alliance welcomed the membership of Infopark: “Belarusian association is an important partner for our Alliance. We hope to share experience, learn from their best practices and spread the European expertise and values in the field of ICT”.

Infopark was set up on May 3, 2001 following the Decree of President of Belarus №234 “On governmental support for IT development and export”. Infopark unites 53 enterprises and organizations of various patterns of ownership that jointly provide employment for more than 10 000 IT professionals. Being a fast-developing and socially responsible business, the companies of the Association Infopark render assistance to development of Belorussian IT educational system, high-skilled personnel consolidation, conducting inter-branch research and raising competitive abilities of the IT enterprises.

Infopark is a member and the main driver of the Digital Business Confederation, established in Belarus in 2016.

The association is highly active in the areas of digital transformation of financial sector, digital trust and security, as well as digital markets development. It is annually organising a major international events in Belarus on these topics, including BankIT forum and IT Security conference. It maintains a productive cooperation with the national policy bodies regulating digital markets as well as with the Eurasian economic commission. Director General of Infopark, Mr. Vladimir Basko, is the Chairman of the Committee on Digital Agenda at the Business Council of Eurasian Economic Union.

The Association acted as the organizer and driver of the international initiative on the harmonization of the digital markets of the Eastern Partnership countries and the European Union. Since the beginning, the Association continues to develop cooperation among digital business associations, digital market regulators, academic sector and civil society and to develop expert communities to facilitate the harmonised development of digital markets in the EaP and EU countries.

The Director General of Infopark, Mr. Vladimir Basko, commented “Infopark Association will make its best efforts to ensure that the potential of the digital industry of Belarus is used for the development of the European Neighbourhood Policy”.
