StandICT.eu opens its 2nd Call for ICT standardisation experts

StandICT.eu, “Supporting European Experts Presence in International Standardisation Activities in ICT” is a program that addresses the need for ICT standardisation and reinforces the presence of European experts in the international ICT standardisation scene.

The 2nd out of 10 cycles of Open Calls has been launched on 5th June 2018. Professionals with proven expertise and experience in standardisation activities have time until the 4th of August 2018 to send their application and receive funding for their contribution to standards development as chair or member of a Standards Development Organisation.

This 2nd Call follows the priority areas outlined in the 2018 Rolling Plan for ICT Standardisation. These are 5G (the newest generation of wireless systems), Cloud Computing (the technology that helps to store and access data and programs over the Internet), Internet of Things, Cybersecurity and Big Data.

The outlined priority areas are those that have been identified as the building blocks of the European Digital Single Market (DSM). It’s precisely in these fields that the creation of new standards is crucial in order to guarantee interoperable services and technologies that will drive the European DSM.
