Belgian association AGORIA joins the European DIGITAL SME Alliance

23rd May 2019. The European DIGITAL SME Alliance and AGORIA combine efforts to support digital SMEs and to further advances in technology and innovation. AGORIA is Belgium’s recognised employers’ association in the technology sector, representing around 1.900 companies, of which close to 1.200 are SMEs.

As Europe’s largest network of small and medium-sized ICT companies, DIGITAL SME now counts 30 national and regional members across the continent. The Alliance is a not-for-profit association that promotes the interests of more than 20,000 European digital SMEs in the EU.

Dr. Oliver Grün, President of the European DIGITAL SME Alliance, warmly welcomed the membership of AGORIA: We are pleased that more and more national organisations join the efforts of our Alliance to support digital SMEs. AGORIA is an outstanding new partner for our work. Together we aim to combine our expertise and foster innovation and skills amongst SMEs in Belgium, as well as in the rest of Europe.

AGORIA is Belgium’s reference association for technology-inspired companies, both small and large, seeking to contribute to local and global advancement through innovation.

Commenting on the announcement, Pieter-Jan Provoost, AGORIA Business Group Leader Markets, stated: “The industry as a whole faces a giant transformation fuelled by digital technology. One of the big challenges is to support our members to help their employees acquire new digital skills and also to connect them with solution providers, of which the large majority are specialized digital SMEs. Teaming up with the European DIGITAL SME Alliance no doubt will help us achieve this goal.
