Focus Group Blockchain & DLT
THE NETWORK OF SME BLOCKCHAIN INNOVATORS IN EUROPE The DIGITAL SME Focus Group Blockchain & DLT brings together various blockchain stakeholders from across Europe to position SMEs both as actors and beneficiaries of blockchain and DLT Technologies. The Focus Group has a particular emphasis on blockchain standardisation through its alignment with BlockStand’s Stakeholder Forum. Members of the FGBC are: o ICT SMEs, such as digital enablers that offer blockchain-based technology solutions and services across various sectors, o blockchain experts, notably standardisation experts. Activities of FGBC include: o Creating a catalogue gathering the solutions developed by the Members of the FG s in various sectors, to create synergies and business opportunities with other SMEs and relevant stakeholders, leading to dedicated networking or matchmaking events. o Supporting SMEs in conversations with regulators, contributing to the transformation and adaptation of regulatory frameworks, o Raising awareness, providing education and practical tools on how to best adopt new solutions, o Encouraging the debate on blockchain standards among blockchain standardisation experts and blockchain entrepreneurs, by working closely with the BlockStand project and serving as the BlockStand Stakeholder Forum, o Accessing the latest updates on EU projects and funding opportunities in the blockchain and DLT field.

Focus Group e-Health
The Focus Group on e-Health by DIGITAL SME will allow interested stakeholders to join a community network of SMEs, public or private healthcare providers, research institutions and public bodies. This collaboration will allow SMEs to develop or to provide their digital solutions to address the challenges in the healthcare system and benefit from a full range of services: information on funding opportunities, discussions on technology-specific topics, networking, and matchmaking.

Task Force Data
Data is at the heart of every modern technology, and a key resource and driver for European ICT SMEs. As such, access to data, data sharing, security etc. are prominent topics not only for SMEs but for European policy makers. In 2022, the European Commission will publish a draft regulation around data and its usage in industry, referred as the “Data Act”, which will have implications on virtually all sectors applying data analysis or relying on data-sharing. Working Group Cybersecurity and Data Protection
DIGITAL SME’s Working Group Cybersecurity and Data Protection brings together cybersecurity practitioners and experts to promote the role of SMEs in achieving cybersecurity for European companies. Members are: - Digital enablers and innovators: SMEs that provide cybersecurity solutions to customers, taking traditional cybersecurity tools and advancing them to meet current and future threats. - ICT Clusters and Cybersecurity experts: SME representative groups that focus on cybersecurity for SMEs, both as consumers and providers. Activities and Benefits: - Creation of unified tools, resources and guides endorsed at European level - Formulating DIGITAL SME stances on forthcoming European legislation, implementation of agreed legislation and establishing cybersecurity best practices and certification schemes. - Promoting awareness of SME specific threats, vulnerabilities, tools and resources while reporting these perspectives to European stakeholders. - Establishing visibility at both European level and across national markets. - Fostering connections with other innovative cybersecurity SMEs. - Facilitating access to EU policy-makers and practitioners, including experts from ENISA and the European Commission. - Providing insight into the evolution of cybersecurity certification frameworks and standardisation, with opportunities for contributing to their schemes.

Working Group SKILLS
DIGITAL SME contributes to digital skills leadership by promoting policy with SMEs’ interests at the core. Through dedicated working groups, projects, events, and policy papers, DIGITAL SME raises awareness for SME-centred skills policy. Working alongside the European institutions to push forward this agenda, DIGITAL SME is directly involved in the Pact for Skills, as coordinator of the Large-Scale Partnership for the Digital Ecosystem, and in the management of the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, ensuring open access to a wide range of information and resources related to digital skills and jobs.

Working Group Standards
Working Group Standards focuses on providing SMEs access to the European standardisation process. As the sectoral representative of Small Business Standards (SBS) in the field of ICT, DIGITAL SME helps small business representatives to actively participate in expert working groups and technical committees. WG STANDARDS is comprised of experts from the European ICT SME industry and jointly develops positions and consultations for EU institutions and standardisation bodies.
