A new breakthrough opportunity to strengthen AI upskilling and reskilling in Europe – ARISA Project

  • Following the Pact for Skills’ guidelines, the EU-funded four-year initiative (2022 – 2026) will develop a sectoral skills strategy on Artificial Intelligence and promote curricula and learning programmes for users
  • Within its range, DIGITAL SME is taking the lead on the long-term sustainability plan and in contributing to needs analysis methodology and research
  • Along with 16 full and 4 associated partners from 12 different countries, DIGITAL SME will help in accelerating the upskilling and reskilling of employees, job seekers, business leaders, and policymakers into AI-related professions

For the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Skills Alliance (ARISA) initiative, DIGITAL SME is teaming up with leading organisations to sensibly decrease the AI skills shortages within the EU market.

In the European Union, only 8% of enterprises profit from AI technology (European Commission, Digital Economy and Society Index 2022), with a general lack of skills (IBM, Global AI Adoption Index 2022) being the greatest hindrance of all. To fill this gap, ARISA boosts AI uptake and contributes to the EU’s Digital Decade’s ambitions of reaching 75% uptake of advanced technologies by 2030.

Throughout its cycle, ARISA will set up an European strategy for AI skills development, by determining concrete objectives and actions both through short- and long-term roadmaps.

As a Pact ambassador in the digital ecosystem, DIGITAL SME will take the lead on ensuring long-term sustainability of project’s results and will facilitate users’ skills uptake through tight collaboration with stakeholders and with broader European networks.
