Fabio Massimo elected Vice-President of Small Business Standards

The Board of Small Business Standards (SBS), the European association representing small and medium-sized enterprises in standardisation, has appointed Mr Fabio Massimo as Vice-President for external affairs. Fabio Massimo is also Vice-President Italy of the European Digital SME Alliance and President of CNA ICT (Italian sectoral Association of ICT small and medium-sized enterprises). Besides, he is a well-known figure in the EU standardisation arena. Since 2013, he chairs the CEN Technical Committee 428 on IT competence. Under his chairmanship, the committee published the European standard on digital skills, the e-Competence Framework, EN 16234-1.

I am honoured to serve as Vice-President of SBS and to assist the President in external activities.” – he said – “Our objective is to increase the participation of European SMEs in standardisation and establish a fruitful cooperation with National Standards Bodies to create an SME compatible standardisation system at both European and international level.”.

On the same occasion, the SBS Board also re-confirmed for the next 4 years Mrs Gunilla Almgren (UEAPME, the Association of European SMEs) as SBS President, Mr Gérard Bobier (APCMA, the French Assembly of Craft Chambers) as Internal Affairs Vice-President and Mr Tim Krögel (ZDH, the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts) as Treasurer.
