The Digital Europe Programme is offering funding to support the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in public administrations across Europe. Selected projects will help scale and replicate successful GenAI pilots, enabling their wider use in government workflows and IT systems. The goal is to strengthen Europe’s capacity to develop, adopt, and trust GenAI solutions “Made in Europe”.

The funded consortium will coordinate pilot activities, build a community of practice, and connect public administrations with European AI start-ups. The action also seeks to identify shared needs among administrations to pool demand for GenAI tools, encouraging innovation and uptake across borders.

Expected Outcomes

• Scalability & Replication: Develop tools such as starter kits and documentation to help other administrations adopt existing GenAI pilots.
• Community & Knowledge Sharing: Create a European GenAI network, offer training, and set up a helpdesk for technical and legal guidance.
• Public–Private Collaboration: Match public administrations with European AI start-ups to co-create secure and trustworthy solutions.
• Pooling Demand: Identify common needs across public administrations and coordinate demand for European GenAI solutions.
• Outreach & Awareness: Support public administrations in promoting pilot projects.
• Ecosystem Synergies: Work closely with initiatives such as the GenAI4EU Central Hub, AI-on-Demand Platform, EDIHs, and EuroHPC.
