The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is Europe’s largest ICT SME association, representing more than 45,000 small and medium-sized enterprises through its network of national and regional member associations.

Join the European DIGITAL SME Alliance as a Junior Project Manager and pro-actively contribute to EU-funded projects that support Europe’s digital ambitions. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop project management expertise while working at the intersection of project implementation and European digital policy. The successful candidate will support the implementation of projects across a range of thematic areas aligned with DIGITAL SME’s priorities, with an initial focus on digital sustainability and the twin transition. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of European initiatives, including topics such as the circular economy, social dialogue, digital skills, smart communities, and other areas supporting European digital sovereignty.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and day-to-day management of several EU-funded projects throughout their lifecycle;
  • Support the coordination of project activities, help track timelines and deliverables, and assist with the smooth implementation of project tasks;
  • Contribute to policy briefings, consultation responses and background research on sustainability and digital policy topics;
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with project partners, SMEs, policymakers, and other stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration;
  • Prepare and review project deliverables, reports, meetings, and other project documentation;
  • Contribute to communication and dissemination activities, including website content, newsletters, social media, and promotional materials;
  • Conduct research and monitor EU policy developments, funding opportunities, and stakeholder initiatives related to digital transformation, sustainability and competitiveness;
  • Organise and support online, hybrid, and in-person meetings, workshops, webinars, and events;
  • Represent DIGITAL SME at conferences, workshops, consortium meetings, and networking events.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A university degree in European Studies, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Public Policy, International Relations, Engineering, or another relevant field;
  • One to two years of relevant professional experience, including internships, in EU-funded projects, project management, sustainability and digital policies, European affairs or related fields;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • A genuine interest in digital transformation, sustainable innovation, European policy and SME competitiveness;
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Excellent communicative, written and analytical skills;
  • Strong digital literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and WordPress Experience with social media management, CRM systems, and content creation tools such as Canva;
  • Knowledge of another EU language, particularly French, Dutch, or German, is considered an asset;
  • A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
