We are proud to announce that the SME Guide on Information Security Management is now available in Greek.

Considering the growing interest following its publication in English and French, we are pleased to release the Greek version of the SME Guide on Information Security Management. The Guide, which assists small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in setting up ISO / IEC 27001 on information security management, was published by Small Business Standards (SBS) – the European organisation representing the interests of SMEs in the standardisation process, both at European and international level –  and the European DIGITAL SME Alliance (DIGITAL SME) in the framework of EU-co-funded actions to raise awareness of the benefits of standards among SMEs.

The ISO / IEC 27001 is the international standard for companies that need a robust approach to managing information security and develop resistance. With this guide, DIGITAL SME wants to help SMEs better understand ISO / IEC 27001 and assist them in its concrete implementation.

“We are very pleased that this initiative,  that has proven to be beneficial to all SMEs relying on technological assets is rapidly growing” – said Mr Oliver Grün, President of DIGITAL SME – “We hope that the Greek version will reach even more SME’s,  and we promise to do our best this year in order to further promote our Guide and the use of standards among the SME community in Europe”.

The Guide outlines a series of practical activities that can substantially help with establishing or raising information security levels within an SME. It was created by information security experts appointed by recognised SME and cyber-security trade associations of various European countries. Yiannis Giannarakis from HAMAC , “Nowadays, cybercrime is an industry on its own, attacks to sensitive information happen on a daily basis, threatening organisations and companies regardless their size. The best defence is knowledge; thus, it is of vital importance that SMEs are aware to what threats they are exposed and prepare accordingly.”
