Webinar-Privacy & Trust: How to ensure management and control of identities and rights.

European observatory of cybersecurity and privacy Cyberwatching.eu is organising a webinar on Privacy & Trust: How to ensure management and control of identities and rights.

The webinar will take place on the 10th of December 2018 at 4:00 PM – 5:10 PM CET. You can register to the webinar here.

Connectivity ensures all aspects of our online selves — from social media posts to usernames and passwords — are easy to harvest on a global scale. There’s no need to follow anyone around town. Just task an algorithm to sort through digital details and you can find out all you need to know about anyone. At the end of 2017, an estimated 4.1 billion people had access to the internet, roughly 54% of the world’s population. One thing all of these people have in common is an accessible digital identity.

Digital identities and access systems are foundational elements of our shared digital future. Multistakeholder dialogue is needed on how to pursue the opportunities that come with digital identities and ensure protection of rights in a sustainable and responsible manner. To empower individuals, identity systems need to enhance security and convenience, preserve privacy and uphold individual rights and freedoms. With the use of digital technologies across the world at an all-time high, and with the adoption of the internet of things expected to connect over 200 billion devices to the internet by 2020, the scope of identity management is also fast expanding to devices and legal entities.

Taking such steps to secure digital IDs, and the personal details associated with them, will become more important as they are used in ever-increasing ways. In this webinar we will analyze the most important topics related to safe and secure management and control of  digital identities and rights.

Who should attend

The webinar is open to all interested in the cybersecurity landscape, especially those concerned with privacy, privacy & access management (IAM) and trust management.
